Atom-like spin centers in organic and inorganic semiconductor host matrices for room-temperature quantum information processing.

Quantum hardware built around spin

Initiated by QUANTUMAT, QAPROS is a research and technology-development programme investigating atom-like spin centers in organic and inorganic semiconductor host matrices for future quantum processors operating at room temperature.

QAPROS illustrates QUANTUMAT’s role as a technology-programme initiator: materials research, quantum-state characterisation and device engineering are developed together towards a defined application. The work examines compatibility with microelectronic and optical technologies. Room-temperature processing and scalable integration remain research objectives.

QUANTUMAT’s contribution

QUANTUMAT contributes device design, experimental characterisation and optoelectronic modelling, alongside the engineering of control, readout and integration approaches. This work connects the physical properties of candidate qubit systems with the requirements of future quantum hardware.

Published research informing the programme

These figures document earlier published research on spin centers in silicon carbide. They illustrate selected structures and spectroscopic measurements within the wider QAPROS scope of organic and inorganic semiconductor hosts.
