Energy storage mark

ENERGY STORAGE

We develop materials and electrode solutions for electrochemical energy storage, linking composition, interfaces and processing with capacity, charging behaviour and cycling stability. Client development projects and our own technology programmes share the same objective: to translate application requirements into material systems and device architectures that can be developed and tested.

Department scope

01 / Materials and interfaces

Active materials, surface chemistry and compatible interfaces selected around electrochemical function.

02 / Electrode engineering

Formulations, material loading, architecture and processing developed together to meet electrode requirements.

03 / Prototype development

Electrode preparation and experimental cell assembly support the comparison and refinement of candidate systems.

04 / Performance assessment

Characterisation connects capacity, charging behaviour and cycling stability with material and process choices.

Our battery projects

Experimental battery coin cells from the QUANTUMAT development programme
2D-HEBAT mark

2D-HEBAT

Silicon-based 2.5D anode materials for lithium-ion batteries. The programme connects materials engineering, electrode preparation and experimental cell testing.
